I recently had a leaking bolt on a hydraulic unit reservoir side cover inspection plate. To repair the leak we were planning on draining the fluid since previous attempts to stop the leak with the reservoir full had been unsuccessful. Before we were able to remove the equipment from service I wrapped some waxed dental floss tightly around the bolt. This stopped the leak! I then cleaned the area with degreaser and put RTV around the dental floss and bolt. The leak has not returned and we were able to keep the equipment in service.
